The DVLA recently celebrated another successful auction of unissued personalized number plates. On the lower end, some plates were snapped up at bargain prices, with the least expensive going for £250. The best value might have been "L92 UKE" at £300. Other affordable buys included "E10 MAX" for £600 and "DOU 99Y" for £800. Overall, prices were higher than previous auctions earlier in the year, and there were fewer plates left without bids, which dealers typically purchase.
Interestingly, some plates, such as "4 HPS," "13 LEO," and "786 RAV," went unsold. Despite this, the DVLA generated over £4 million in revenue, a significant figure given that these are new, unused numbers.
