A Memorable Stay
Overall, we had a delightful time at the Taj Green Cove. Surprisingly, it was more affordable than many other resorts in Kerala. We encountered several young couples honeymooning on a budget. While I wouldn’t call this Taj a typical "cheap honeymoon" destination, the cost of dining out is so low that it balances out the expense of staying at a quality hotel.
The Resort Experience
The spa at Taj Green Cove is exceptional and reasonably priced, though it lacks a sauna and Jacuzzi. Despite the added 25% taxes, the cost remains fair. The resort makes up for not being directly on the beach with a fantastic spa and a lovely pool. However, the “Green Cove” name might mislead some, as reaching Lighthouse Beach requires a ten-minute tuk-tuk ride, which can be inconvenient.
Accommodations and Amenities
The accommodation surpassed international five-star standards; our suite was luxurious, equipped with a DVD player, and boasted a stunning view. The infinity pool, surrounded by tropical plants, was impeccably maintained, offering a relaxing escape.
Dining Experience
The dining experience was a mixed bag. The Curries restaurant didn’t quite meet expectations, and the breakfasts were underwhelming. Consequently, we often dined out. While Lighthouse Beach and its surroundings felt a bit tacky, there were numerous eateries within walking distance.
Service
The hotel staff were exceptionally helpful and attentive, yet unobtrusive, which is always indicative of a high-class resort.
Conclusion
I would happily return to The Taj Green Cove, especially since proximity to a beach isn’t a priority for me. However, beach lovers might want to consider other options.
