Discover the Romantic Seclusion of Siboney Beach Club, Antigua
An Idyllic Caribbean Escape
Siboney Beach Club in Antigua caught my attention while exploring locally-owned hotels on the island. Renowned as one of the most secluded and romantic Caribbean resorts, I was eager to experience it after a memorable honeymoon at Cocos, another standout destination.
We stayed in a comfortable one-bedroom suite on the top floor, complete with a small kitchen. Although well-decorated, it could have benefited from air conditioning throughout, as only the bedroom was equipped. The other rooms got quite warm, even with the ceiling fan. Luckily, mosquito repellent handled any insect issues.
A Personalized Experience
The hotel’s charm is enhanced by owner Tony Johnson’s hands-on approach, offering a welcoming atmosphere often missing in larger establishments. It was refreshing to be in a place where the owner, not a faceless manager, is readily available.
Location and Surroundings
Siboney Beach Club sits at the quieter end of Dickenson Bay. While the nearby Sandals resort made one part of the beach busy, a short walk left led us to a serene, deserted stretch of sand?"perfect for relaxation.
Adjacent to the hotel is Coconut Grove, an outstanding restaurant right on the beach offering delicious meals throughout the day. Just be mindful of your budget as costs can add up with most transactions in US dollars rather than the local EC currency, and ATMs are frequently empty.
Relaxation and Scenery
Nestled in lush, well-maintained gardens, the hotel features a lovely pool, often yours to enjoy in solitude. The sunsets, accompanied by a rum punch, are unforgettable.
Siboney Beach Club is truly one of the Caribbean's hidden gems, perfect for those seeking a peaceful escape from the typical all-inclusive experience.
