Discovering the Charm of Bandon, Oregon
Bandon, Oregon, boasts some of the most breathtaking coastlines I have ever seen, quickly becoming one of my favorite coastal towns. With its stunning beaches and charming coastal shops, this town is a visitor's paradise, and I’m thrilled we finally made the trip.
A Valentine's Retreat
Just before Valentine's Day, my wife and I took advantage of an incredible deal at the Best Western Inn at Face Rock. During the off-season, you can find amazing discounts, and we scored a 50% reduction on our stay.
Our room was spacious and well-equipped with a cable TV, microwave, refrigerator, desk, table and chairs, a king-size bed, and free long-distance and local calls?"all for just $54 a night. It felt as roomy as our apartment’s kitchen and living room combined.
A Perfect Location
The Inn is ideally located across the road from beautiful beaches offering stunning ocean views. It also borders a golf course and Best Western’s own restaurant, which was under renovation, though we heard rave reviews from friends.
Exploring Bandon
On our second day, Amanda and I embarked on a two-mile walk from the Inn to Old Bandon, enjoying breathtaking views along the way. Old Bandon exudes the charm you’d expect from a coastal town. While I’ve always loved Newport, Bandon has now carved out its own special place in my heart. It may not have as many shops as Newport, but for gifts, candy, or food, Bandon is a winner.
In town, you'll find some well-sized grocery stores, pizza joints, and fast-food options, along with a few charming thrift stores and a Tiffany’s.
A Memorable Breakfast
Continuing our walk through Old Bandon, we stopped at a delightful café by the bay for breakfast. The food was excellent and surprisingly affordable. After nearly six miles of strolling, we returned to our cozy Inn.
A Picture-Perfect Destination
Bandon truly is a gem, offering majestic rock formations rising from the waves and dramatic cliffs lining the ocean?"perfect for a picturesque getaway. Our recent trip was the most delightful since our honeymoon, and we’re already planning our return to this beautiful spot.
