An Unforgettable Stay in Cape Town
We recently visited Cape Town, South Africa, for a wedding, flying from Birmingham, England, via Amsterdam with KLM. Despite arriving late at night, our journey led us to two remarkable luxury hotels.
The Cape Heritage Hotel
Our first stop was The Cape Heritage Hotel, situated in a prime central location, perfect for exploring both the financial district and local shops and parks. With just fifteen beautifully furnished rooms, the hotel offers a cozy yet elegant atmosphere. Our spacious room featured stunning wooden floors and a breathtaking view of Table Mountain right from our bed.
Owned by a charming Englishman, the hotel staff made us feel incredibly welcome. They served delightful breakfasts with the friendliest service. Although the hotel doesn't offer dinner, numerous excellent restaurants are nearby, including the must-visit L'Aubergine. If needed, the hotel even arranges taxi rides in a Mercedes-Benz.

Les Cascades de Bantry Bay
For the final two nights, we moved to the exclusive suburb of Bantry Bay, staying at the luxurious Les Cascades de Bantry Bay lodge. Located in a tranquil residential area, this hotel offers six main house rooms, each with a balcony and stunning sea views. The carefully selected furnishings and luxurious bathroom added to the elegance of our stay.
In a separate villa on the property, four contemporary-style bedrooms provide additional accommodation options. The picturesque swimming pools and cozy seating areas, illuminated by candlelight in the evening, create a serene outdoor atmosphere. Breakfast overlooking the pool was a highlight, though we didn’t dine there for dinner.
The attentive and personable staff at this small luxury hotel ensure a relaxing and enjoyable experience.
The Mount Nelson Hotel
Although we didn't stay at The Mount Nelson Hotel, we did indulge in their afternoon tea. It was a truly memorable experience, surpassing any other we've had. This is an experience not to be missed when visiting Cape Town.
