Hello From Ibiza - Part 2
Date: September 28, 2004, 9:45 pm
We've just returned from a wonderful evening and a pleasant dinner in Santa Eulària des Riu. Our day was spent exploring Ibiza's stunning beaches, starting on the northwest side, just north of Sant Antoni, and ending in Santa Eulària.
Our first stop was La Salada, accessed via a rocky road north of Sant Antoni. After parking, a short 10-15 minute walk brought us to a secluded beach with rocky platforms where a few sunbathers, mostly nudists, were enjoying the sun. The view of a rocky island in the distance was breathtaking.
We continued through the island's quiet, hilly interior to Sant Miquel and Port de Sant Miquel, a charming coastal town. Next, we visited Cala de Benirràs, a gorgeous beach known for its rocky outcrop in the bay. The combination of coastal hills and the expansive sea was absolutely stunning.
Our journey took us to Portinatx, where we explored several beaches, each featuring unique rocky formations. Then, we headed to Sant Joan de Labritja and Cala de Vicent, a beautiful beach with views of Tagomago Island. Despite the cool sea breeze, we captured the serene beauty through our photographs.
Throughout the day, we marveled at the island's compact size and immense beauty. For dinner, we dined in Santa Eulària, home to one of the most picturesque seafront promenades I've ever seen.
We enjoyed a three-course 'menu del dia' at Bar Sinatra Restaurant, a seemingly upscale spot. Despite a regular soup costing 6.25 Euros, our meal included an appetizer, main course, and a complimentary drink (wine included) for just 10.50 Euros. While my grilled pork chops weren't the most flavorful, the overall value was excellent.
After savoring some ice cream by the sea, we decided to head back and prepare for our exciting journey to the island of Formentera tomorrow.
