The Experience:
When I requested an authentic Brazilian vacation, my family chose Ponta Dos Ganchos. This enchanting resort boasts just twenty exclusive rooms. Our room was breathtaking, featuring a private pool, sauna, and an indoor Jacuzzi with views of the Atlantic Ocean. The spacious bathroom included double showers, his-and-her toilets, double basins, and even an outdoor shower.
The sundeck was a perfect relaxation spot, equipped with a hammock and loungers. The room also featured a well-stocked bar with complimentary non-alcoholic beverages, and a rotating flat-screen TV for optimal viewing from the bed or sitting area.
Dining:
There are two dining venues. The casual eatery serves breakfast and light lunches all day, while the main restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating over two levels. With relaxed dining schedules, lunch extends through the afternoon and dinner lasts into the early hours. Although the food is not extraordinary, the abundance of seafood is a highlight. Wine prices are comparable to those in European restaurants. Note that while the staff is attentive, English is not widely spoken.
Exploration:
We took time to explore nearby villages and enjoyed swimming in the calm, clear waters. One memorable moment was spotting dolphins near the marine reserve. This resort truly lives up to its reputation as one of the premier Brazilian vacation destinations, and stands out as one of the finest tropical escapes I have experienced.
