The shop wasn’t quite what we expected. The inventory seemed to consist mainly of salvaged parts, though there were some new ones too. As we navigated past two older gentlemen playing checkers at a rickety table and a dog lounging on the floor, the owner emerged from the back, wiping his hands on a shop towel.
“May I help you?” he asked.
I explained what I needed, but after a thoughtful pause, he admitted he didn’t stock many RV Winnebago parts and doubted he had the one I required.

With plans to leave for home in two days, we stopped at a gas station to stock up on ice. It seemed easier to keep the refrigerator cool this way than to continue a fruitless search under the hot Texas sun.
Once home, I took our unit to a local dealer, and they fixed it in under an hour. It’s amazing how simple things can be when you have the right part.
