Our love for camping began when our children were young. We started with a pop-up camper hitched to our minivan. The kids enjoyed weekends at local campgrounds, making new friends along the way.Over the years, we upgraded to a truck camper that fit onto the bed of our pickup. The children could ride in it during our journeys, but as they grew into teenagers, their interests shifted from camping to spending weekends with friends at the mall.
Eventually, we sold the truck camper and bought a trailer that our truck could tow for shorter trips. We often parked it at a local campground for the summer, where friends nearby did the same.
Now, approaching retirement, we're eager to purchase a motor home for extensive travel. We don't want to haul our camper trailer over long distances anymore, so we researched RV sales and services locally in Georgia, North and South Carolina, and online.
Despite competitive prices from Maine to Texas, we chose to buy close to home to ensure better service. After exploring various models and manufacturers, we couldn't decide. Our dealer suggested renting a couple of models to determine our preference, which proved helpful.
We’re now ready to embark on new adventures as major leaguers in our new motor home, anticipating many enjoyable years in retirement.
