Other notable cities include Banff, Fort McMurray, Grande Prairie, Camrose, Lethbridge, Red Deer, Medicine Hat, and Lloydminster.
Economic Powerhouse
Alberta stands as Canada's largest producer of crude oil, synthetic crude, natural gas, and gas products. The province is home to two of North America's largest petrochemical producers situated in central and north-central Alberta. Edmonton and Red Deer are renowned for their world-class polyethylene and vinyl manufacturing, exporting products globally. Edmonton's oil refineries supply raw materials for a substantial petrochemical industry east of the city.
The Athabasca Oil Sands
The Athabasca Oil Sands possess oil reserves estimated at 1.5 trillion barrels, surpassing those of the rest of the world.
