By Monday morning, my bank confirmed the funds were safely in my account. I quickly grabbed some American Express checks, packed a light backpack, and headed to Los Angeles International Airport, known as LAX.

After a few tries, I secured a ticket on a Korean Airlines flight to Bangkok. Passing through security, I picked up a guidebook for Asia and proceeded to my gate. Three hours later, as the plane took off, I waved goodbye to my rut for an exhilarating three-month journey.
I’ve always preferred traveling with minimal plans. Having a loose schedule allows me to embrace unexpected adventures. If you ever get the chance to leave everything behind and travel for a few months, seize it. You never know when such an opportunity might arise again!
