Kenya Safari Experience

Summary:
Embarking on a Kenyan safari is truly an unforgettable journey! Picture getting close enough to a cheetah to count its spots, hand-feeding giraffes, or relaxing on a sunlit terrace as a herd of 30 elephants meanders by. Every day unfolds a new adventure in nature's vibrant museum. I feel fortunate to have experienced this before it's too late for the incredible wildlife to roam freely. Visiting in October was perfect, coinciding with the wildebeest migration.

Article Body:
Having explored nine countries in Africa, something always draws me back to Kenya?"it's the heart and soul of the continent. My previous clients have consistently rated it as the best vacation ever. This time, we added a visit to Jane Goodall's Chimpanzee Sanctuary, making it even more special. Africa is best enjoyed in the camaraderie and comfort of a group, and we had a fantastic adventure with our two groups of 90 people each, over two weeks.

The trip was expertly planned as we traveled from Nairobi to Mt. Kenya, Sweetwaters, Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, and the Masai Mara. Our suitcases filled with handcrafted purchases nearly overflowed our jeeps, but we managed well.

We enjoyed deluxe accommodations complete with swimming pools, ensuring total comfort throughout our journey. The highlight was staying in luxury tents with en-suite bathrooms at the Masai Mara, surrounded by resident monkeys. We even spent a day visiting a Masai tribe and village.

Morning and afternoon game drives gave us opportunities to photograph an astonishing array of animals, including the Big Five: lions, elephants, cape buffalo, leopards, and rhinos. Our seven guides in Landrovers brought us so close; it felt like a live Discovery Channel experience. We marveled at Mt. Kenya, the Great Rift Valley, and Lake Nakuru, alive with a quarter million flamingos.

We also visited the Rothschild Giraffe Center, Karen Blixen’s home (author of "Out of Africa"), and a baby elephant sanctuary. Other safari highlights included hot air ballooning, white water rafting, watching a cheetah chase down a gazelle, and witnessing the migration of about 20,000 wildebeest crossing a crocodile-infested river. It was like a scene from a nature documentary. I even kissed a Rothschild giraffe and petted a two-ton rare black rhino named Ronnie. The adventure concluded with a farewell feast at the famed Carnivore Restaurant.

This meticulously crafted itinerary, with an easy air schedule, offered superb value at $2,500, including airfare. Words can hardly capture the experience. Seeing nature in its raw form left an indelible impression on me. Karibu sana!
