After returning from work, I checked the mailbox. Among the usual mail was a large, unstamped envelope that seemed to contain a book. Curious, I greeted my children and sat down to open it. I didn't remember ordering a book, but inside was a leather-bound volume titled "The Ancient Light Within." A sticky note on the cover read, "This is your gift. Sorry I have to cancel our appointment for this evening, but I'll be in touch soon." It was signed, "Your Encyclopedia Salesman."
