Suddenly, he was lavished with honors, shown to magnificent rooms, and treated to luxurious hospitality for eight days. Yet, through it all, Shuka’s serenity remained unshaken.
Eventually, Shuka was brought before King Janaka, who was surrounded by music, dance, and entertainment. The king handed Shuka a cup filled to the brim with milk and tasked him with walking around the hall seven times without spilling any. Undistracted by the festivities or alluring sights, Shuka completed the challenge without losing a drop.
Impressed, the king acknowledged Shuka's mastery over his own mind, affirming what Vyasa had already taught. With wisdom affirmed, Shuka was told, "You have known the Truth; go home."
