Article:
This is good and acceptable before God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:3-4)
On the sixth day of creation, God fashioned human beings in His image, granting them dominion over all creations. As stated: “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the sea's fish, the birds of the air, the cattle, the earth, and every creeping creature.” Thus, God created humans in His image; male and female, He created them (Genesis 1:26-27).
God designed the Garden of Eden as a home for humanity, communicating with them directly. However, after sinning, humanity lost this divine likeness and fellowship with God.
In response, God, driven by love, promised a Savior in Jesus Christ. When the time came, God sent His Son, born of a woman, under the law, to redeem those under the law, granting us the status of His children (Galatians 4:4-5; John 3:16). Jesus prayed for believers, "Father, I desire that those You have given Me may be with Me where I am, to see My glory, for You loved Me before the world’s foundation" (John 17:24).
Once Jesus completes His mission of salvation, and we are eternally with God, we will be restored to His image, as Apostle John noted: "Beloved, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. But we know that when He appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is" (1 John 3:2).
"The world is passing, with its desires, but whoever does the will of God lives forever" (1 John 2:17).
