(Deut. 26:18-19) As a chosen people, we're called to be royal priests, bringing blessings not only to those around us but primarily to Him, who has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light! (1 Pet. 2:9).
Blessings are tied to obedience?"obedience to God and being a blessing to others. We must listen to His voice and follow His commandments. (Ex. 16:5-6) Recognizing His voice among all others requires knowing Him and acknowledging Him as Lord. With His law inscribed on our hearts, blessings will actively pursue us. These blessings range from prosperity in the city or countryside, fruitful families, and abundance in food and supplies, to having enemies defeated and all efforts blessed. Not just having possessions, but lending without borrowing, and rising above adversities. (Deut. 28:1-13)
King David exemplifies the cycle of giving and receiving blessings. In Psalm 63, he expresses a deep yearning for God, seeking Him earnestly. David describes life without God as a barren, thirsty land. He longs for God's glory and power, valuing His blessings more than life itself. David's heartfelt adoration and gratitude come even before he receives any tangible blessings.
Proverbs 8:17-21 echoes this sentiment: "I love those who love me; those who seek me diligently will find me. Riches, honor, enduring wealth, and righteousness are mine to give. My fruits are better than gold, my yield superior to silver. I lead in the way of righteousness, guiding those who love me to inherit wealth and fill their treasures."
