Is the Unseen Now Visible?
Is the unrealized now taking place? Jesus warned us that many would come in His name, preaching and teaching, yet their hearts would be far from Him. These are money seekers, exploiting the Gospel and the spiritual hunger of others for personal gain. They promise healing but take advantage of the poor, leaving countless souls yearning for miracles, seeking cures for illnesses like cancer and AIDS.
Desperate people flock to these supposed miracle workers, waiting in line for hours. Yet, they are often overlooked, while the so-called healers lavish attention on those without visible ailments. These preachers declare that Jesus is coming soon but constantly ask for more money to fulfill their desires, living lives of indulgence that would shame millionaires. Meanwhile, the true message of the Gospel is ignored, as their sermons always focus on "give to us."
People leave these events just as they arrived: hungry for truth, desperate for God’s word, and with empty pockets and broken hearts. Titus 1:11 warns us about such false preachers: “Their mouths must be stopped, as they subvert entire households, teaching what they should not for the sake of dishonest gain.”
These deceitful preachers offer false teachings in God’s name. They are not familiar with God’s power, and they lack the willingness to share the truth. The miracle services they conduct are like carnival shows, raising the hopes of the poor only to dash them, driven by a selfish desire to receive rather than give. Some believe they are healed, only to suffer later. Where have the true preachers gone? Where is the power the Church once had? Has caring for the flock been replaced by self-preservation? Or has pure indifference taken over?
Jesus, Paul, James, and John sacrificed their lives for the lost, with Jesus declaring, “My Kingdom is not of this world.” They did not desire material wealth but sought God’s kingdom. As Acts 7:49 states, “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: what kind of house will you build for me?” How could any earthly structure or wealth satisfy God Almighty?
Misplaced Priorities
Many stand at the pulpit announcing, “The End is Coming!” but then place the burden on congregants to build bigger monuments. In places where 15 to 20 people share one Bible, some deceivers spend lavishly on pointless excess. Many walk miles in harsh conditions just to hear God’s word read to them, yet they are given stones when they ask for bread and serpents when they seek substance.
Thousands yearn for a Bible, craving truth, hoping someone will tell them about Jesus. As 1 Peter 4:17 says, “Judgment begins at the house of God.” If it starts with us, what will become of those who do not obey the Gospel?
A Call to True Servitude
1 Peter 5:2 urges leaders to “Feed the flock of God, not out of obligation, but willingly, and not for dishonest gain.” Imagine removing all those who demand money before preaching from today’s churches. The absence would be stark.
Amos 8:11-12 warns of a divine famine: not of bread, but of hearing God’s word. Why would God allow this? Because people have been indifferent to truth, choosing teachers who cater to what pleases them, refusing to see and hear what truly matters. Eyes have turned blind, ears have become deaf, and hearts have hardened against others’ suffering.
God foresaw this apathy and deception, like in Noah’s days. People flock to deceivers, seeking miracles and comfort without responsibility. As Revelation 22:11 says, “He who is unjust, let him be unjust still…” We cannot thwart prophecy, but we need not fall for deception.
Can miracles happen today, as in the days of Jesus and the disciples? Yes, there can be healings, deliverances, and salvation?"true miracles?"through God’s word and truth. Let’s embrace the truth and live it fully.
