At Amazon Churrascaria in Fullerton, Orange County, the focus is undeniably on meat. This Brazilian-style restaurant combines the elements of a barbecue and steakhouse, with waiters circulating the room bearing sword-length skewers of steaming, freshly grilled meat.
A Brazilian Ambiance
The decor exudes Brazilian flair. A waterfall graces the entrance, while faux jungle plants and panels reminiscent of ancient ruins adorn the walls, evoking a Rainforest Cafe vibe, minus the animatronics and flashy lights.
Interestingly, the restaurant has hints of the American Midwest with its central salad bar. It offers mayo-based salads, three-bean varieties, cheesy breads, and soups. A standout is the banana frita?"ripe banana strips rolled in cinnamon-flavored flour, deep-fried, and sugar-coated.

Introduced to this “meat palace” by my friend during our Atkins Diet days, both of us appreciated the outdoor and indoor flavors. My wife, however, found it overpowering but enjoyed the dishes like skirt steak and ribeye. After several servings, she opted for a dessert served from a rolling cart by Jessica, the “dessert girl,” featuring a delightful chocolate cheesecake and pineapple sorbet served in a hollowed-out pineapple.

Restaurant manager Roman Alcaraz notes the loyal clientele drawn to the restaurant, including area Brazilians and the diverse immigrant community in Orange County. Owner Kent Choy, inspired by a client, opened the restaurant in December 2002 as the only one of its kind in Orange County.
