"You're experiencing an out-of-body state. In this form, you can travel farther and faster, more efficiently than in your physical body."
Feeling hesitant, I asked, "Is it safe? What if I can't return?"
Gideon smiled. "You're perfectly safe, John. Most people do this during sleep, but they seldom remember it upon waking."
