“Created it,” he responded nonchalantly. Ignoring his answer, I insisted, “I've got to talk to you, but not here.”
“That’s why I came. I’ll see you at ten tomorrow morning. Here’s the address. We’ll have lots to talk about then.” He handed me a slip of paper, patted my shoulder, waved, and walked back to his car. Checking the rearview mirror, he had already disappeared, just as he always used to.
With excitement, I continued driving home. Tomorrow, I’d finally get the answers I sought. Pulling into my driveway, I felt hopeful. Tomorrow, I’d meet him again.
