I checked my watch: it was still only ten-thirty. Despite feeling like we'd talked for hours and traveled far, time seemed frozen. I looked at him and mused, "You can't possibly stop time, can you? Not even you."
"No," he replied. "We just centered ourselves in a timeless space, making it seem as if time stood still. Rest assured, everything is fine with you, your family, and the world. No side effects."
I looked at Rajah, who was sleeping peacefully. Next to him was a picnic basket. "What's that, Gideon?" I asked, pointing at it.
"Just lunch. You mentioned you were hungry, didn't you? I brought it along this morning. Let's enjoy it."
Strangely, I hadn’t noticed the basket before. We dug into a delicious meal as Gideon resumed his commentary.
"It's quite simple," he explained. "Each person exists in many dimensions and systems, inhabiting the crucial spot: the here and now. From there, one influences their entire future and past."
"Gideon, our church elders would be shocked by such ideas?"being born again, living before. Surely you don't believe that..."
He interrupted, "You live as many lifetimes as needed on earth. In each one, you aim to improve on the last, assuming you view time sequentially. If you see time as eternally now, you exist across multiple systems and dimensions simultaneously."
The morning was enlightening, filled with Gideon's thought-provoking insights. Yet, it was time to return to reality and engage with people and the present moment as I knew it.
"Don't be too hard on yourself, John. You've done well. As you can see, I'm an otherworldly being?"but so are all of you on earth. You're just visitors here. Some understand this; others choose ignorance. Either way, you have access to incredible power. See you soon." Then he vanished. The picnic basket too disappeared without a trace. Only Rajah and I remained. Together, we stood up and returned to the house.
