An attractive, middle-aged woman stood at the podium, capturing the room's attention with her presence. As she smiled at me and resumed her lecture, I sensed the audience’s irritation at my late arrival. Internally, I defended myself, thinking, "I want to be late, alright?" But soon, her words arrested my attention.
She spoke of her ability to foresee events and provide insights, offering what she called readings. Born with this unique gift, she emphasized that everyone has the potential to develop similar talents. She wove in stories of God, angels, spirits, and other dimensions. Initially skeptical, I began to think I might have wasted the morning. That was until she decided to demonstrate her abilities.
She asked if anyone had met her before. No one had. Starting from the back of the room, she pointed to various individuals, sharing personal details about their lives. To a particularly anxious woman, she revealed, "Your friend Elizabeth will soon marry and move. She’s worried about her sick mother and needs your support." Astonished, the woman affirmed, "Yes! That’s so true!"
Continuing, she addressed a tall, dark-haired man mid-audience. "The trucking business you're about to start will thrive. However, beware of one partner?"the short one with the beard. He may try to seize control." The man couldn't believe her precision. "That’s amazing," he repeated.
I was eager for my turn, but she seemed to overlook me. Paranoid, I wondered if this was punishment for my lateness. However, knowing that couldn’t be true, I waited. When she requested a glass of water, I seized the chance to be noticed, rushing to fetch it. Surely, now she would address me. Yet, again, she said nothing.
As the lecture concluded, I was dejected. She thanked the audience and then, to my surprise, looked directly at me. "Young man," she said, "I'll see you later. I have something to tell you that wouldn’t be understood by anyone here, least of all you." Although surprised, I was pleased to have the chance to speak with her privately.
