Red Nose Day is fast approaching on Friday, March 16, 2007. In a unique charitable initiative, People Building, renowned providers of Hypnotherapy and NLP training across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and London, are hosting a special event for the public.
A First in Comic Relief History
For the first time in Comic Relief history, experts will offer their services for free to help people overcome phobias. Usually, these professionals charge around £65 per hour, but during this event, all they ask is for attendees to make a donation to Comic Relief.
Understanding Phobias
Phobias are intense, irrational fears often stemming from past experiences. Over time, these fears can become exaggerated through our imagination or from influence by others.
Event Details
The phobia-curing event is set for February 24, 2007, with specific arrival times to be posted on our website soon. Throughout the event, three main techniques will be used to combat phobias:
- NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming): This involves understanding how the mind processes information and modifying it for better outcomes.
- NLP Fast Phobia Technique: Positive emotions are installed as a safety net. The fear is detached from its stimulus by desensitizing it through quick, imaginative replay of past fearful experiences.
- EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques): This involves tapping on acupuncture/meridian points to balance emotions.
- Hypnosis: A relaxed state is induced to boost confidence and prepare individuals for facing their old fears more positively.
Test and Fun
The day will also involve testing to ensure that fears are reduced or eliminated. Plus, laughter will play a key role in defusing fear.

Comic Relief has raised over £425 million since 1985, and we aim to contribute significantly with your help. The event will take place at the Express Holiday Inn, Apsley Lock, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. A big thank you to the Express Holiday Inn for sponsoring us!
