"Daddy," Malika began, "Can we stay at Lisa's tonight? Jonathan and Mark want to watch a movie. We'll be good, and Lisa and I will supervise. Please, Daddy?"
Their excitement was evident. "When did this start?" I asked. "No permission yet."
"Mark and Lisa asked minutes ago. Their parents approved," Jonathan explained.
I agreed and double-checked with their parents. By 3:00, the kids packed their bags and headed next door. Alone, I pondered the protocol for welcoming God. It felt surreal.
