"How did you know what I was thinking?" I asked. Our minds briefly became one, allowing me to understand the essence of your thoughts. It's something you've done often. How many times in recent years have you anticipated people's questions before they even asked?
"Yes, I understand," I replied, reflecting on the years with Mardai. Memories surged through me, but I resolved not to be overwhelmed by emotions this time. Instead, I aimed to rise above them.
"Marla, I've always felt you knew my wife. There seems to be a connection between you."
"Yes, we know each other well," she replied.
"Do you know where she is now? How is she, and what is she doing?" My questions spilled out, and Marla had to slow me down.
"Easy, John, one thing at a time," she said gently. She paused before continuing, "She and I, along with others, have been together from the start if you think in sequential time. In simultaneous time, we are always together."
"Please, Marla, simplify it for me. Just tell me where she is and what she’s doing."
"There isn’t much to say. Her work with you here was complete. Had she stayed longer, you might not have finished your mission. She believed she couldn't assist you further, so she moved on, knowing you'd join her once your tasks were complete.
"She’s always near you, even tonight under the old tree. A love born of eternity endures forever. The deepest and truest reality is the depth and sincerity of our love. Her love for you has remained steadfast. She supports you in your work and daily life, watches over your children, and aids in their growth. She remains integral to your life as ever. The absence is only physical; her spiritual presence endures. Love never fails. You and Mardai are eternally bound."
