Their young, understanding the act, also chose to join their parents. Observing such selflessness, the guests refrained from eating and spent the night in contemplation. The next morning, the king and the sage guided the princess back home.

A small bird bravely plunged into the flames. Though the guests tried to save him, he was too quick.
Witnessing this, the bird's wife pondered, "Three people and only one little bird?"it’s not enough. I must honor my husband's sacrifice." She too leapt into the fire, sacrificing herself.
Their three chicks, realizing the sacrifice of their parents, chose to follow their path, saying, "Our parents gave all they could. Now it's our duty." They too jumped into the flames.
The guests were astonished by this selfless act and couldn't bring themselves to eat the birds. They spent the night in reflection. The next day, the king and the sage guided the princess back to her father.
The sage then turned to the king and said, "Each is great in their role. If you wish to live in the world, emulate these birds?"be ready to sacrifice for others. If you choose renunciation, be like the young man who valued purity over beauty and riches. A householder must live for the welfare of others, whereas a renunciant must turn away from worldly temptations. Each path has its own duty, distinct and honorable."
