Finding Your Motivation
Understanding Your Driving Force
What fuels your daily drive? Is it your career, your family, or your personal goals? When discussing motivation, we're exploring what propels you forward each day. This is universal, whether you're self-employed, a salesperson, working from home, or supporting loved ones. Motivation is essential to maintaining the mindset needed for success in our endeavors.
Staying Motivated
We all experience highs and lows, so finding ways to stay motivated is crucial. Here are some strategies I use:
1. Prayer
As a Christian, prayer is immensely motivating for me. I trust that God listens and will respond in His time. This patience provides peace and motivation.2. Daily Goals
Every morning, I jot down my daily objectives. Crossing off completed tasks at the end of the day is incredibly rewarding and reinforcing.3. Reading
I often turn to self-help materials for guidance. As a self-employed individual, I consume newsletters, books, and articles that aid in achieving my goals.4. Connecting with Friends
When I'm struggling, reaching out to a friend can be a great support. Sharing with others reminds you that you're not alone in your pursuits. Often, friends need motivation too!Overcoming Doubt
We've all questioned whether our efforts are worth it. In such times, remember why you started: for family, loved ones, or personal fulfillment. Reviving that original motivation can help you push forward.
The 80/20 rule is applicable here: 80% know what to do, but only 20% act on it. Don’t let doubt or fatigue hold you back. Be among the 20% who take action. As Nike puts it, "Just Do It!"
