Ants are fascinating creatures, always on the move, tirelessly working together. Yet, I wonder if their constant activity signifies real progress. Could they be moving in the wrong direction without realizing it?
Similarly, I observe many of my friends who are successful and wealthy. They've achieved so much in their respective fields and seem to be miles ahead. But have they truly made progress? Only a higher power could really know if they’re on the right path.
We often praise extraordinary individuals, but does that mean they’re truly progressing? How can we be sure that action and status indicate true growth? Forward movement doesn’t always equate to progress. The tools we use to measure growth are often the same ones that guide us. It’s like evaluating your own test papers?"bias is inevitable. A human mind cannot judge itself accurately; a superior tool is required, not merely a superior person.
Consider observing an ant’s evolution. Can we justifiably measure an ant’s progress based on human criteria? Would our standards of growth align with the ant’s perspective? Likely not.
We might be like ants in the eye of a higher power, subject to different criteria for progress. Walking further doesn’t always mean advancing; it might just be distance covered. Don't be overly impressed by those who seem greater?"they might be on the same uncertain path. Whether winners or losers, it doesn’t matter if the race itself is misjudged.
Once, an ant pinched my foot, as if to say, "I won the race." But who truly cares? It may have been on the wrong path, and by reflex, I crushed it. The ant behind it chose a different direction, perhaps learning from its predecessor’s misstep.
Ultimately, real progress may not be about the journey’s speed or the initial direction, but the wisdom gained along the way.
