How’s Your Luck?

Word Count: 462

Summary:

The other evening, I was on the bus from Oxford to Witney, returning from an exciting day trip to London with my partner, Jackie. We were both exhausted after spending the day exploring the shops in our beautiful capital.

On the bus, I overheard a young man talking to his friend about how fortunate his cousin was to fly between England and Germany for work with a multinational clothing brand?"on the company’s private jet, no less! His cousin was living his dream job, which got me thinking about something important.

Many of you familiar with "Self-Change Hypnosis" might know about a little plaque Jackie gave me when I qualified as a hypnotherapist years ago. It contains two of my favorite verses:

1. No one can keep you from dreaming; only you can make them come true.
2. Don’t leave things up to fate; it’s strictly down to you!

Here’s the takeaway: Your success or failure isn't about luck; it's about what you create. Figures like Richard Branson and Bill Gates aren't successful because of luck. They built their success.

Failures can happen, often because success isn't viewed as viable. I have friends who doubt their potential in certain areas, leading them to fail.

When I began training in hypnotherapy, Jackie and I saved diligently to afford the tuition. I had to overcome my limiting beliefs and make success my only option. While I haven’t reached Richard Branson’s level, I’ve created a life where I'm content in the present and excited about the future.

Success can feel daunting, almost impossible. This is where well-formed outcomes come into play. Break your big goal into smaller, manageable sub-goals. On a large sheet of paper, write your main goal and then divide it into sub-goals. You might discover that achieving numerous small goals can make the path to success smoother.

Don’t rely on luck?"take action!
