In my younger days, impatience was a familiar companion. I often reacted when things didn’t proceed at the speed I desired. Though I’ve largely overcome the impulse to complain when things stall, remnants of impatience still linger within.
My work relies heavily on computers. Recently, my main system broke down, and the manufacturer promised a swift repair. What appeared to be a simple fix morphed into a complex saga.
Daily conversations with the company assured me of a quick resolution. Two weeks into the ordeal, they admitted that they couldn’t find the required part and promised a new computer. Delighted by the prospect of an upgraded machine, I eagerly awaited it.
However, as the promised delivery date passed, my frustration grew. I envisioned writing stern letters to corporate executives or dramatically smashing the old computer in a public spectacle.
A wise saying echoed in my mind: the ultimate test of mastery is overcoming impatience. Yet, at that moment, wisdom offered little solace. I recalled a humorous bumper sticker I’d once seen: a sweating vulture on a tree branch with the caption, "Patience, my ass, I want to kill somebody." This memory made me smile, easing my frustration momentarily.

By slowing down and flowing with life’s current, problems often resolve themselves. Forcing outcomes rarely works; instead, we should create a space where desired results manifest.
With this mindset, I let go of my fixation on the computer’s arrival. I’d managed just fine with backup systems. What mattered was embracing the present, not obsessing over delays.
A few days later, I received an email confirming my new computer’s shipment. It promised the same specifications but ended up as the most advanced model, freshly released. Astonished and grateful, I realized the value of releasing time constraints.
The universe speaks in subtle ways. Often, like children, we demand immediate gratification. Yet, the universe might whisper, "Wait, and you’ll receive something even better."
Freeing ourselves from the tyranny of time allows life’s magic to unfold. By embracing this freedom, we discover that there’s usually a "better" following the "good," leading to the "best." The universe seeks to offer us the best?"if we allow it.
Strive to break free from daily hustle. Let go of time’s hold and watch as life brings forth its treasures, offering "better" or "best."
