Laura and I recently returned from an amazing 10-day adventure at Disney World, and I have to admit?"I feel incredible!
My passion lies in helping people launch businesses and chase their dreams. Sometimes, though, I overlook the value of play and fun.
While on the plane back from where "Dreams Come True," our 6-year-old, Elina, suddenly offered a success principle that would make Walt Disney himself proud.
You’ll want to pay attention here, as Elina is about to teach us an essential lesson about success:
Ready? Elina leaned in and almost whispered to me:
"You know, sometimes there are foods I don't really like. I just don't fancy them. But I eat them anyway, and over time, I get used to them. Eventually...it's not so bad."
I sat there, astonished. Elina had just delivered a success principle that I knew I had to share the moment we returned to New York.
Like many aspects of life, this principle can either hinder or significantly boost your personal development and success this year.
It all depends on what you choose to do with it.
Many of us engage in activities that don’t bring us joy or a sense of accomplishment.
Don’t allow yourself to remain stuck in a job, relationship, or situation that isn't right for you. If it doesn’t ignite your passion for life, it won’t uplift those around you.
Sure, you may eventually see it as "not so bad," but consider the cost.
Life moves too quickly to settle for a mediocre job or an unfulfilling relationship.
Don’t settle.
Be honest with yourself. I’ve realized that much of my dissatisfaction comes from within, not from others.
Don’t settle for less than the greatness within you.
When you push yourself to become better than you were yesterday, you’ll often see your work, family, and other relationships 'magically transform.'
This principle’s other side is something all successful people understand.
Successful individuals often tackle tasks no one else wants to do.
Is it uncomfortable?
Absolutely! No doubt about it.
Carving out time for your dreams in a packed schedule can be like eating that vegetable you always disliked (mine was spinach).
But trust me, it gets easier.
Just keep doing the right thing, repeatedly.
Then watch for results.
Over time, you'll realize: it’s not so bad. It’s actually pretty good!
You’ll start to believe?"I can do this!
And then, you’ll begin succeeding in a BIG way.
