Introduction
Are we just bodies with personalities? From my perspective, we are much more. Each of us possesses a higher aspect often referred to as the Higher Self. Others may call it the oversoul or overself.
Understanding the Higher Self
The Higher Self represents the intelligence and wisdom within us. Interestingly, it remains impersonal, lacking the self-awareness associated with our personalities. Instead, it acts as a guiding force for our ego.
Connecting with the Higher Self
Can we contact this elusive Higher Self? Yes, and it’s typically achieved through meditation or altered states of consciousness.
Personal Experience
In the late 1990s, I began noticing that deep spiritual contemplation often brought me symbolic visions. My Higher Self communicated through these symbols and visions, embedding messages into my awareness.
A Visionary Experience
Years ago, I pondered the cycle of reincarnation and whether lost souls would be trapped forever. Out of nowhere, a rapid transmission of images and emotions flooded my consciousness. This burst of insight came in an instant, received by the right side of my brain. My mind worked quickly to interpret it.
How did I know it wasn't just my imagination? First, I don’t normally think in pictures but in languages. Secondly, these transmitted images overlaid my visual perception, creating a unique 'dual-split' in consciousness?"something unusual for my mind.
The vision appeared against a light blue backdrop with rings of lighter color moving toward a center. Although the transmission was quick, here's what I interpreted: "The cycle of reincarnation is not endless. Eventually, all return to the Source."
Reflections and Growth
That transmission occurred many years ago. My understanding has evolved since then, but the insight was perfect for my level of comprehension at the time.
Over the years, these visions, alongside guidance from enlightened teachers, have vastly deepened my understanding of consciousness and the universe.
