The Leonardo Trait: Embracing Creativity in Action
Introduction
Is there a gene for creativity? Perhaps not, but there is something I like to call the "Leonardo Trait."
Understanding the Leonardo Trait
I've often pondered what makes me tick. If you knew me, you'd understand the whirlwind that is my mind. It's more than just family ties.
I operate at two speeds: stop and go.
I can't commit to just one project?"I need at least five on the go.
Out of the twelve projects I'm juggling, I'll only finish seven.
Which seven? I don't know yet, so I must work on all twelve to find out.
I'm constantly exploring new interests. Right now, I'm learning to podcast, participating in charity walks, organizing teleseminars, and writing a book.
My Inspiration: Leonardo da Vinci
Besides Amelia Earhart, my childhood hero, Leonardo da Vinci fascinates me. Growing up in the 1970s, female role models like Amelia were scarce, and I cherish her influence.
I imagine if Leonardo lived today, he'd be labeled "weird" or told to "finish what you start," often dismissed as a "jack of all trades, master of none." I like to think he would surprise his critics with his genius.
Wouldn't that be something?
Recognizing the Trait in Ourselves
Although we can't meet Leonardo, we can embrace his trait within ourselves. It’s time we cut ourselves some slack. After all, no one else will do it for us.
So give yourself a break, fellow Leonardo!
