Being the Mountain
Embracing Tranquility and Centering
Experience the Journey:
In the quiet of the early morning, I hiked up the path to the Peaceful Valley Chapel. This ten-minute walk had become a cherished ritual during my years with Thomas Crum's Journey To Center Program. Each morning, before our 7 a.m. breathing and meditation session, I would climb this small mountain, seeking inspiration from the towering peaks in the distance.
Connecting with Nature:
Standing before the 14,000-foot summits, I opened my arms, embracing their energy, beauty, and tranquility. These mountains, steadfast and poised, offered a stark contrast to my own need for approval and the desire to always do the right thing. They simply existed?"graceful and powerful.
Learning from the Mountain:
This year, I chose to let the mountain teach me the art of simply being. Whenever I felt myself striving or seeking approval, I stopped, breathed, and thought of the mountain?"just being. This practice brought me back to a state of relaxation, clearing my mind and bringing my being to rest. It was akin to returning to my center, no longer leaning forward in search of validation.
Finding Your Center:
Is there a place that helps you reconnect with your powerful presence? A place where you realize you're okay just as you are? Find it?"whether it's in your office, home, or a simple moment of solitude. Bring your mountain into view and embark on your own journey to center.
