When Your Ideal Feeling Seems Far Away

We all have an idea of how we WANT to feel, but how do we align our current emotions with our ideal ones when we’re feeling low?
Understanding the Gap
Recently, a student asked me a compelling question: “I know how I WANT to feel?"much better than I do now. How can I align myself with that ideal feeling when my current emotions are so low?” This question highlights the emotional gap between where we are and where we want to be, which can often feel daunting.
Visualization Exercise
To address this, I introduced a visualization technique. Picture a timeline resembling dumbbells, with your default feeling on the left and your ideal feeling on the right. Imagine a minus sign under your current feeling and three plus signs under the ideal.
Take a moment to draw this on paper. Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and imagine feelings like love, joy, excitement, or playfulness?"your ideal emotions.
Now, open your eyes and then close them again to check in with your current feelings.
Bridging the Gap
On your timeline, mark an X one-third from the left and another X one-third from the right. Under the first X, place a plus sign; under the second, place two plus signs.
Close your eyes and feel what it’s like to be one-third closer to your ideal feeling. You’re on your way! Now, imagine being two-thirds there. Notice how it feels?"attainable, hopeful, possible?
By shortening the emotional distance, you may start to feel better. Experiment with this concept to gradually raise your vibration.
