Growing up, I was taught that pride had negative connotations. It's true that excessive pride can make us arrogant and self-centered. However, I've learned that a healthy amount of pride is essential for building self-esteem. Lacking this foundation in childhood can make it challenging to develop as adults.
Over the past few years, I've realized that trying new things and achieving even small goals can significantly boost self-esteem. For about four years, I've been learning to use computers, network, and create websites and blogs. The progress I've made has fueled my desire to learn more, enhancing my confidence and self-esteem.
Last October, I started selling Avon Beauty Products, which has further improved my self-esteem. By engaging with people and using the products, I've been taking better care of myself. In my opinion, caring for ourselves physically impacts our emotional well-being positively.
I've also developed a deep sense of pride in my brother, David, over the past four years. Despite his ongoing battles with depression and anxiety, he hasn't given up. He faces his challenges head-on and often triumphs. While he has off days, he also enjoys many good days, and I cherish the time we spend together.
Years ago, my therapist taught me the therapeutic power of writing. Expressing feelings through writing has been incredibly helpful. My brother, David, joined me in blogging on this site, and I couldn’t be prouder. His ability to articulate his thoughts and connect with his emotions is inspiring, offering valuable insights to others facing depression. He has been a tremendous support for me as well.
