Is it possible that the world’s top achievers think differently from the majority?

Consider the Wright brothers. Could they have achieved flight without believing it was possible? Did Mark Spitz win seven gold medals by thinking, “I can’t do this”? Or Christopher Columbus?"imagine that!

Success in any field, whether financial, political, or athletic, is rarely achieved with negativity. Expressions like “I can’t do that,” “That’s not possible,” or “It will never work” don’t lead to achievement.

I’ve been around negative thinkers, and their influence can be both powerful and destructive if unchecked. Think of what happens if you place a piece of rotting fruit in a bowl of fresh fruit.

That's why surrounding yourself with positive thinkers is essential for success. Sharing your positive thoughts and attitudes with like-minded people is equally crucial.

It's also important to write down your goals and place them where you can see and read them daily.

In the late 1950s, 1,500 Yale University students received a questionnaire. Among various topics, two key questions stood out:

1. Do you have a life ambition?
2. Have you written it down?

Twenty-five years later, a postgraduate student investigated these questions. The findings revealed that over 75% had ambitions, but only 3.3% had written them down. Of those, all went on to achieve their dreams in commerce, government, and other professions.

Most of the others achieved success more by chance than design, lacking a clear definition of their goals.

Does writing down your goals actively program your mind to work towards them subconsciously?

As Norman Vincent Peale, a positive thinking guru, once said:

> “Formulate and indelibly stamp on your mind a mental picture of yourself as succeeding. Hold this picture tenaciously. Never permit it to fade?"and your mind will seek to develop the picture.”

While I wasn’t part of the Yale experiment, I’m interested in exploring the power of positive thinking. On my website, [CorrectMindFrame.com](http://www.CorrectMindFrame.com), I’ve started a blog featuring a positive thought I’ll focus on for the next 12 months. I’ll report back on what happens.

I invite you to participate by visiting my site, noting a goal you'd like to achieve, and committing to following Peale’s advice for 12 months. Please encourage your friends, colleagues, and associates to join as well.
