While speaking to a Youth Leadership Group recently, I was truly inspired by the dreams these teenagers shared. During our session, I observed them realizing the value of dreaming big and taking pride in their accomplishments and ambitions.
The Importance of Dreams
As adults, we often lose touch with our dreams by the age of 25, falling into a routine that lacks fulfillment. From 25 to 65, many people find themselves stuck in a cycle of work and regret, wishing they had pursued their passions. The secret to fulfillment is listening to your inner voice and making your life's work something you love, enabling you to achieve your dreams.
Why Dreams Matter
Dreams are essential. Too many people, when asked where they see themselves in a few years, can only focus on the immediate future. This is often because they have no dreams, which can be alarming. The teenagers I spoke with had clear visions for their future, which is incredibly empowering.
As a professional speaker and business coach, my goal is to help people discover their WHY and propel them toward their dreams. I emphasized to the group the importance of surrounding themselves with a mastermind team that will encourage and support their dreams.
Evaluating Your Circle
Most adults don’t have a mastermind team; instead, they have friends who discourage them from striving for more. Take stock of your life and ask yourself these transformative questions:
1. What is my WHY in life? (Why do I get up every day?)
2. Who is my mastermind team?
3. Where do I see myself in 2-5 years?
Answering these questions truthfully can set you free. Living a fulfilled life means waking up every day with a strong desire to achieve your WHY. Winning in life requires being part of a supportive team, realizing that while life decisions can be challenging, they are ultimately rewarding.
