Who Will Fill the Inner Compass NLP Receivership Gap?
Summary
As a former student of Inner Compass NLP, I was taken aback to learn that the company had gone into receivership. My surprise led me to verify this on the Companies House website. Just a year prior, I had completed a 17-day trainer's training with Andy Harrington and Topher Morrison. This qualification enabled me to teach NLP Practitioner and Master Practitioner courses, both of which I previously passed with Inner Compass.

Learning that Inner Compass NLP had gone into receivership left me, like many others, in disbelief. To confirm the news, I checked the Companies House website. It was a rather unexpected twist, especially since only a year earlier, I completed my trainer's training with Andy Harrington and Topher Morrison. This training allowed me to teach NLP courses myself, and I fondly recall passing my Practitioner courses with Inner Compass.
Reflecting on my Master Practitioner training, I can now see that subtle signs of trouble were already present. However, the courses were bustling with participants, and any shift in Harrington's demeanor was attributed to the mounting pressures he faced. Little did we know then what lay ahead.
The revelation of Inner Compass's status unfolded in an unusual manner. Most people learned through word of mouth, and I discovered the truth when I called the company to speak with a staff member, only to be informed they had been let go. My suspicions deepened as I learned that several familiar faces were also let go in a bid to save the company, although I was reassured it was business as usual. Eventually, emails circulated, and discussions began. I admit, I was part of those conversations, much like passing a car accident and being unable to look away.
Outwardly, Inner Compass appeared successful. Having launched my own NLP training school, I can attest that merely offering a free event isn't sufficient to sell trainings. Yet, Inner Compass seemed to have mastered the formula, drawing around 100 attendees per free event. How could such a thriving venture fail so spectacularly? The truth is, I don't know the exact reasons. Like many others familiar with the situation, I've only heard rumors, as Harrington never addressed them directly.
Is it right for me to leverage this misfortune to promote my training? Perhaps not. However, I recall Harrington once expressing a desire for us, his trainees, to set up our own training schools to compete with his. This would serve as a testament to his effective training and push him to improve through healthy competition.
Andy wasn't a personal friend, and at times, I found his behavior somewhat arrogant. Yet, he was an exceptional trainer. The Inner Compass team inspired me, and I aspire to be part of a team like theirs. So, my challenge to Andy is this: establish a training school that can rival mine, demonstrating the quality of the trainer he nurtured, and providing me with worthy competition. Don't wait too long.
