A Tribute to My Mother
My name is Cecil Martin Chase, and as a retired NFL player, I know firsthand the vital role that mothers play in the journey to success. My dreams of making it to the NFL would never have come true without my mom's unwavering support and dedication. This article is a heartfelt thank you to her and mothers everywhere.
Growing up, my mom was always there for me. She prepared my snacks for football practice, bought my gear, and ensured I was never late. Without her, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
Let me share a bit about her. From a family of 12 siblings, she married young at 19 and had me two years later. Though her relationship with my father went through challenges, her resilience never wavered. Despite the pain and uncertainty, she found an incredible strength within herself.
Determined to provide for us, my mom worked tirelessly. When I showed interest in football, even with limited resources, she wholeheartedly supported me. She encouraged me, drove me to practice, and taught me the value of punctuality and dedication.
My mom is the hardest working person I know. Her perseverance and positive attitude instilled in me the drive to chase my dreams relentlessly. Today, I want to express my gratitude to her and to all the amazing moms who inspire their children to follow their dreams.
