Iron Palm: Part 3
Exploring the Journey of Mastery
Introduction:
Continuing from Iron Palm Q&A with Sigung Richard Clear Part 2---
I began my Kung Fu journey in 1982 with Dr. Wu’s system, guided by one of his senior students. By 1984, I started studying under Tyrone and that’s when my training in Iron Palm commenced. Initially, I hadn't set out to learn Iron Palm; its allure was unknown to me. It was simply part of the broader Kung Fu training, which also included Dim Mak. However, once I started, I was captivated. As my training progressed, I developed a deep interest in internal energy work, which has been my focus ever since.
Q&A Session
Q4: From whom did you learn?
A: Over the years, I've been fortunate to learn from many teachers. My primary Iron Palm instructor was Tyrone.
Q5: What advice did your Iron Palm sifu give you?
A: Training with Tyrone was unique. He rarely had us break materials. In 1986, I decided to attempt breaking a patio block by resting it on two sturdy center blocks. Despite multiple hits, the block wouldn't break. Frustrated, I noticed that the two support blocks had fracture lines, and with a light slap, they fell apart. This experience taught me about precision and understanding force.
