A True Tail: A Lesson in Survival
Jungle Tale
In the dense jungle, a hungry tiger lay quietly, his tail flicking idly as he craved a meal. Suddenly, a plump, juicy antelope appeared in the glade nearby. "Ah," thought the tiger, "dinner time!"
Stealthily, the tiger crawled forward, inching closer to his unsuspecting prey. But a bird sounded the alarm with a loud chirp, "Danger!" The antelope immediately looked up, spotting the tiger. "Oh no," thought the antelope, "it might be the tiger’s dinner time, but it’s certainly not my time to go!"
The antelope sprang into quick action, narrowly escaping the tiger’s clutches. This was a frequent scene in the jungle?"a testament to instinct and quick reflexes.
Survival Skills: A Different Perspective
While some may focus on training for peak athletic performance, chasing medals, and sporting glory, my interest shifts towards martial arts for personal protection. It’s about effective self-defense and survival.
Despite my background as a Chartered Physiotherapist and an Area Coach in the Martial Arts, I hold an unconventional belief:
No Time for Warm-Ups
In real danger, such as a sudden mugger attack, there’s no time to rely on preparatory warm-up exercises. In those crucial moments, hesitation can be fatal. Just like the antelope, you must be ready to spring into immediate action.
Train genuinely, but train for reality!
