Overview:
Since April 3, our highlighted horses have claimed three victories and one second-place finish.
Aqueduct
- Lookin Swell: Initially sixth, over three lengths back at the half-mile mark. Made a strong inside move, then swung wide in the stretch, closing nearly three lengths to narrowly lose by a head at a mile on April 22.
- Allaboutmack: Trailed by over seven lengths, but powered forward on the turn. Closed impressively from fourth, reducing the gap by over three lengths and finishing just three-quarters of a length behind on April 13 on turf.
- Polished Arrow: Positioned fourth early on, angled for room in the stretch, and narrowly missed victory by a head, even after a late bump, in a six-furlong race on April 6.
- Bold Man: Started eighth, advanced to fifth despite being over five lengths back. Rallied impressively in the stretch, closing the gap to just a neck at six furlongs on March 30.
Hawthorne
- Buster Bailey: Despite starting from an outside post and trailing by more than 10 lengths, closed fast after coming five wide, missing the win by a nose at 1-1/16 miles on April 22.
- Chicago Style: Raced on the rail and made up an impressive nine lengths, ultimately losing by a half-length at six furlongs on April 9.
- Key Storm: After being shuffled back, found a path in mid-stretch to surge forward and lose by just a length at six furlongs on March 4.
Philadelphia Park
- Sans Win: Raced fourth and mounted a strong rally to gain second by five lengths at six furlongs on April 23.
- Sign Post: Despite a poor start, closed strongly from sixth, challenging late to finish just a length back at five furlongs on April 11.
- Imachadancer: Overcame a sloppy surface to close well from sixth, finishing just a length behind in the stretch at six furlongs on April 8.
- Just Thunder: Set an early pace, fell back, but rallied strongly from the outside, almost clinching victory by a neck at six furlongs on April 1. (Later took the lead mid-stretch to win by two lengths at six furlongs on April 11.)
Pimlico
- Tam I Am: Overcame early difficulties, closing steadily from third to only lose by a neck at 1-1/16 miles on April 23.
Tampa Bay Downs
- Cimarrona: Raced five lengths back, came six wide into the stretch, and narrowly lost by a neck at six furlongs on April 23.
- Unreal General: Made a late charge, slicing through the field from sixth to narrowly miss victory by a head at a mile on turf on April 15.
- Dynamic Contour: After being blocked, found room and made up ground fast, missing by a half-length at 1-1/16 miles on turf on April 7.
- Loadim Up: Pressed early, but lost ground on the turn. Rallied mid-track to close two lengths and miss by a neck at 1-1/16 miles on March 31.
- Mr. Hogan: Broke through the gate prematurely yet still led in the stretch, eventually losing by a length at six furlongs on March 19. (Followed up with a strong second-place finish by a head at six furlongs on April 3.)
- El Soprano: After falling back, closed fast once finding room to make up four lengths, missing by a neck at 1-1/16 miles on turf on March 7. (Subsequently led early and won by three-quarters of a length on April 11.)
