In the early 1980s, CBS's prime time hits included Dallas and The Dukes of Hazzard. The latter series followed the lively escapades of the Duke family in fictional Hazzard County, Georgia. The story revolved around cousins Bo, Luke, and Daisy Duke, who lived on a farm with Uncle Jesse. The Dukes frequently clashed with the bumbling law enforcement officer Rosco P. Coltrane and his crafty boss, J.D. "Boss" Hogg. Their trusty ally, mechanic "Cooter," often helped them outsmart Boss Hogg’s schemes. While the characters were beloved, the true icon of the show was their orange race car, the General Lee.
