Everybody Loves Raymond DVD Review
Overview
Launched in the fall of 1996, "Everybody Loves Raymond" quickly won the hearts of TV audiences, enjoying a successful nine-season run. In the tradition of hit sitcoms featuring stand-up comics like "Seinfeld" and "Home Improvement," this show capitalized on the comedic skill of Ray Romano, who stars as Ray Barone.
Ray, a successful sportswriter based in Long Island, shares a happy life with his wife Debra (Patricia Heaton) and their three children: daughter Ally (Madylin Sweeten) and twin sons Geoffrey (Sawyer Sweeten) and Michael (Sullivan Sweeten). However, their life comes with a twist: Ray's parents, Frank (Peter Boyle) and Marie (Doris Roberts), live right across the street. They frequently intrude into Ray and Debra's home, offering unsolicited advice peppered with occasional insults. Adding to the family dynamic is Ray's brother Robert (Brad Garrett), a divorced policeman who often crashes with their parents and harbors envy for Ray's seemingly perfect life. Together, they form a loving yet wonderfully dysfunctional family.
