Summary:
C.S. Lewis’s timeless children's classic, "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe," comes to life on screen. Set during wartime England, the story follows the four Pevensie siblings who are sent away from London for their safety. They find themselves in the countryside, staying in the eccentric Professor Digory Kirke's house. Unsurprisingly, the shift leaves them feeling quite bored.
Everything changes when Lucy, the youngest, stumbles upon an unusual wardrobe. Inside, she discovers not just clothes, but a snow-covered world. At first, her siblings don’t believe her fantastical tale, but their curiosity eventually leads them all into the wardrobe. There, they enter the enchanted realm of Narnia, ruled by the kind lion Aslan. Narnia is trapped in an eternal winter, cursed by the malevolent White Witch who prevents Christmas from ever coming.
As the children embark on their quest to help Aslan defeat the witch, one sibling is seduced by the forces they are determined to fight. Amidst talking animals and magical beings, they must rally to free Narnia from its icy grip and save their brother from danger.
Review:
This film captivates from start to finish, even with its substantial 2-hour and 20-minute runtime. Perhaps my fondness stems from it being a cherished childhood novel, but the young cast delivers engaging performances, and Tilda Swinton shines as the White Witch.

A word of caution to parents: Though rated PG, the movie includes several intense scenes. It may not be suitable for very young children.
