- Gloss spray sealer

Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare the Box
- Sand the box with sandpaper.
- Use an old paintbrush to apply wood sealer, following the manufacturer's directions. Let it dry thoroughly.
2. Paint the Box
- Paint the inside and outside of the box with blue-gray acrylic paint.
3. Apply Decoupage
- Use an old paintbrush to apply a thin layer of decoupage to the box and the sides of the lid, working on a 3" square area at a time.
- Place stamps on the box and lid, overlapping them as desired.
- Lay stamps over the opening between the lid and box for later cutting.
- Use a ruler and X-acto knife to cut a greeting card to fit the top of the box. Apply a thin coat of decoupage to the lid and place the card in position.
4. Attach Ultra-Suede Strips
- Apply tacky glue to the wrong side of one ultra-suede strip.
- Start at the bottom front left corner, 1" from the side and bottom, and press the strip to the box.
- Slide a buckle on and make a small hole for the buckle's stem 1" from the end.
- Cut the strip's corners at a 45-degree angle.
- Repeat for the remaining strip on the other side of the box. Allow to dry thoroughly.
5. Cut the Lid Opening
- Use the X-acto knife to carefully cut the opening between the box and lid from the back.
6. Install the Musical Movement
- Drill a hole at the center back of the box, 1" from the bottom.
- Use industrial strength glue to secure the musical movement inside the box, ensuring the winding key shaft is centered in the hole. Let it dry thoroughly.
7. Add Hardware
- Carefully hammer the corner brackets onto the box.
- Center the hasp catch on the back, turn the box upside down, and nail it in place.
- Attach the padlock to the hasp catch and fit the winding key.
Finally, fill your music box with your favorite vacation photos.
