Step 2: Paint the Box
- Paint the inside and outside of the box with blue-gray acrylic paint. Let it dry.
Step 3: Découpage Design
- Apply a thin layer of découpage to the box and sides of the lid with an old paintbrush, covering about 3" at a time.
- Arrange and overlap stamps on the box and lid sides.
- Cut the greeting card to fit the top of the box and attach it with découpage.
Step 4: Add Decorative Strips
- Apply Tacky glue to the back of one ultra-suede strip.
- Attach it starting at the bottom front left corner, ½" from the side and 1" from the bottom.
- Slide on a buckle, making a hole for the buckle stem 1" from the end, and cut the corners at a 45-degree angle.
- Repeat for the other side and allow to dry.
Step 5: Cut the Lid
- Carefully cut the opening between the box and lid using the X-acto knife, starting at the back.
Step 6: Install the Musical Movement
- Drill a ¼" hole at the center back of the box, ½" from the bottom.
