Recently, however, I've noticed signs of separation anxiety. While I'm at work, Kava has been chewing on books, pulling bed covers, digging, and grabbing items from counters. He doesn't display these behaviors when I'm home, so I can't correct him in the moment. He has been allowed to roam the house for about two months, but these issues only started recently.
Do you have any advice on how to handle this? I'm considering crating him, but since I'm gone for over eight hours, it seems inhumane. Hiring a dog walker isn't an option due to budget constraints, though I do my best to puppy-proof the house.
