Jake's Story:
Hey there! I'm Jake, and this is how I see my world.
I don't remember much about my earliest days, but my real story began at about 14 weeks old. A kind couple visited my kennel one day looking for a puppy. I sat in a corner watching as four adorable blue merle collie girls rushed to greet them. I was just a regular black and white Border collie and thought, "Who would want me?" But, to my surprise, they picked me up!
I decided then and there to give it my best shot. I snuggled in tight and gave them a big, wet kiss?"a winning move! That’s how my adventure began as they took me home.
Determined to be the best friend ever, I wanted to make sure they never regretted their choice. Arriving in my new home, I felt a bit lost in the kitchen without any puppy pals. But over time, I got used to my surroundings and started enjoying my life.
"This is the place for me," I thought, with plenty of space to run, shadows to chase, and birds to watch.
I had a few challenges, like learning to walk on a leash. I wasn’t too keen on it at first, but I eventually gave in.
Time flew by with me digging holes in flowerbeds, helping to "unplant" flowers, and narrowly avoiding a plunge into the fishpond. Life was shaping up to be pretty great.
Around my first birthday, everything was suddenly packed into boxes. "What’s happening?" I wondered. Turns out, my journey was continuing to a new home near the coast.
What a fantastic place! I reveled in romps through the heather and discovered the beach. At first, I disliked getting my feet wet, but soon I realized the beach was fun. I could run endlessly, and then one day, I bravely dashed into the water. Surprise! I could swim! I started loving our beach trips more than anything.
A couple of years later, everything was packed again. "Where to this time?" I thought. We moved to another house, still near the sea.
Now, I'm almost six years old (I think!) and I believe I’ve been a constant source of amusement for Mom and Dad. I’m sure they have a whole album of photos and fond memories.
Life has treated me well. A big, wet-nosed thank you to Mom and Dad for choosing me that day. I just want to grow old with them, update my story now and again, and enjoy our lives together for many years to come.
